The 2017 RBW 7s was the best ever 7s tournament held in Barbados!  After two pulsating days of unrelenting battles on the pitch, it was a fitting end to see almost all the players come onto the ground after the final whistle to enjoy an impromptu dance together, accompanied by the D.J.’s soca beat.  It was simply an incredible experience, different to any other and exhilarating in every way possible.

The tournament statistics show that Projecx Waterboys (Scotland) were convincing winners of the Men’s Division and Scion Sirens (USA) ruled the Women’s Division.  Correct.  And deserved champions they both were, but the stats cannot begin to describe the crunching tackles and amazing plays that the spectators witnessed throughout the two days of intense competition under sunny conditions in beautiful Barbados.

They may be difficult to beat in 2018, but the winners will have to compete with even better teams as the tournament venue shifts to the Kensington Oval – the home of West Indies cricket and one of the best stadia in the Caribbean – over the weekend of Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th December.  In making this quantum leap, we expect to be able to offer increased prize money and world wide satellite coverage.  It marks an exciting step that will be on the calendar of all serious rugby 7s teams in future.  As such, we hope that you will be an integral part of RBW 7s 2018!
